If getting to a clinic in Sapporo is difficult, a doctor can come to you instead.
Sapporo International Clinic offers home visit medical care with English-speaking support.

"Home visit medical care" (houmon shinryo, 訪問診療) means a doctor visits your home on a regular, planned schedule — typically about twice a month — to provide checkups, treatment, and prescriptions. It is different from an ambulance or a one-time emergency house call: it is ongoing care, arranged in advance. Home visit medical care is covered by Japan's public health insurance system in the same way as visiting a clinic in person.

English Support

English-speaking staff are available at our clinic, and our doctors can communicate with you in English during home visits. If you have a Japanese-speaking family member or friend who can join the visit, it can help, but this is not required — please contact us even if you will be on your own. We will always do our best to make sure you understand your care.

Insurance

Home visit medical care at our clinic is provided under Japan's public health insurance system (hoken shinryo). If you are enrolled in Japanese public health insurance — through your employer, National Health Insurance, or another public plan — your visits are covered in the same way as an ordinary clinic visit, with the usual co-payment. Please bring your insurance card and residence card to your first visit.
